Peritia Prep is a developing microschool and academic learning community focused on small-group instruction, personalized learning, and strong academic foundations. Our programs are designed to help students grow in both confidence and understanding through intentional, relationship-based education.
What is a microschool?
A microschool is a small learning environment that allows for more personalized instruction, stronger student-teacher relationships, and greater flexibility in how students learn. Microschools are designed to provide a more individualized educational experience than traditional large classroom settings.
What does the name ‘Peritia‘ mean?
Peritia is a Latin word that means: skill, expertise, practical knowledge, or experience. It was chosen as our school name for two reasons: first, the definition, and, second, our methods are deeply Classical in nature and we intend to bring Latin and Greek roots to the forefront of what we teach.
What ages or grade levels do you serve?
Our current summer programs serve rising 4th–8th grade students through targeted math bootcamps designed for foundational support, skill reinforcement, and advanced enrichment.
What makes your programs different from tutoring?
Traditional tutoring often focuses on homework help or short-term assignments. Our programs are designed around deeper skill development, conceptual understanding, and long-term academic growth in a structured small-group environment.
What if my child struggles with math anxiety or low confidence?
Math anxiety and uncertainty are very common, especially as concepts move from concrete/pictorial to more abstract definitions and processes. Our goal is to provide supportive instruction, guided practice, and confidence-building alongside skill development so students can begin rebuilding trust in their own abilities.
Will more programs be offered in the future?
Yes! The summer bootcamps are part of the broader vision for Peritia Prep as we continue developing future educational offerings and learning opportunities.
